First Time Attendee FAQ
When and Where is Convention?
Convention is January 20 – 23, 2027 at the Kansas City Convention Center located in Kansas City, Missouri.
What should I do first when I arrive?
Check in at Registration, located in the 2300 Lobby of the Kansas City Convention Center. Pick up your credentials and attendee T-shirt, and stop by with any questions — we’re here to help you get started!
How do I build my Convention schedule?
Attend the sessions that interest you! Attendees are welcome to attend any open educational session. The full schedule will be available in the Convention app, as well as in the Education Schedule book, which will be provided later this fall.
What sessions should I prioritize?
Choose the experience that works best for you! We offer a variety of educational formats, including on-field sessions with demo players, classroom presentations, and panel discussions. We’ll also provide suggested tracks for different coaching levels, but ultimately, it’s your Convention — the choices are yours!
How do Special Topic Diplomas work?
Earn up to two Special Topic Diplomas during Convention by attending at least 6 of the 8 sessions designated for each diploma track. Pick up a validation card and collect a sticker from our team after each qualifying session. Once you’ve completed the requirements, submit your card to the Education Team and your diploma will be added to your United Soccer Coaches profile.
What resources are available for first-time attendees?
We’ll be hosting a First-Time Attendee Webinar to help you feel prepared and make the most of your Convention experience. Stay tuned—more information, including the date and registration details, will be coming soon!
Where should I go to meet other attendees?
Everywhere! Coaches, administrators, soccer professionals, and fans of the game will be throughout the Convention Center and official hotel block. Strike up a conversation, attend our networking events, and take advantage of the many opportunities to connect with others in the soccer community. You never know where your next great connection might come from!
What happens in the Exhibit Hall?
Explore the business of soccer! The Exhibit Hall is filled with the latest products, equipment, technology, and services for the soccer community. It’s also a great place to discover new ideas, connect with industry partners, and build valuable professional relationships.
What events are included with my registration?
Make the most of your Convention registration! Your registration includes all educational sessions beginning Wednesday evening, along with access to the Exhibit Hall and other Convention experiences. You can also enhance your experience by adding Pre-Convention sessions, Award Ceremonies, and select special events for an additional cost.
How can I make the most of my Convention experience?
Come with a plan, but leave room to explore! Identify your can’t-miss sessions, events, and networking opportunities before you arrive, then give yourself time to discover something new. And if you have questions while you’re onsite, our team is here to help — just ask!
